Please use these suggested ages only as a guide. They will vary based on frequency of actual attendance in classes, the focus and progress level of the dancer, and other factors. Periodic changes in the individual dancer’s physical development will also affect progress from time to time as their bodies grow and change.

Early Childhood Dance – Littlest Dancer Program 

Dance with Me

A creative movement class suitable for ages 12months - 35months. Perfect for the child who still needs a little more time before separating from the parent or caregiver. A great way to bond with your little one! Parents or caregivers participate actively in the class as children learn basic dance steps and terminology through songs, stories, and play. This class will build their self-confidence to help them blossom into beautiful ballerinas or danseurs!

Wiggles & Giggles

Children will learn basic ballet movement and terminology through fun songs and the use of props. Activities constantly change to hold onto those short attention spans! Dance will allow your two-year-old to build motor skills, grace, and confidence. Student MUST already be 2.

Pre-K Belles 

This class is a great introduction to basic ballet vocabulary, posture, and alignment. Students enjoy story dances, dress-up time, moving as a group, and expressing themselves creatively with a variety of music.

Kinderdance Kids 

Kinder Dance is a combination program that suits our kindergarten students, ages 5-6.  Each 1 hour class introduces the fundamental techniques in ballet, tap, jazz and acro, - a little at a time through set exercises and imagination-based games to learn arm and feet positions and basic dance steps.

Children’s Program (A- Level) 6 - 9 yr olds

Ballet & Tap A1 

Students will be participating in a 1.15 hour combination class of ballet and tap. The class focuses on increasing the dancer’s technical abilities in both ballet and tap. Dancers train as a group while receiving individual corrections/instruction. Fun music, across the floor activities, and dance/movement games will inspire a love for dance. Students will learn both a ballet and tap dance that will be performed at the recital.
  • Ages:              6 – 7 years

Ballet & Tap A2

Students will be participating in a 1.15 hour combination class of ballet and tap. This class will begin working at the ballet barre as part of this class. The teacher will focus on more tap and ballet technique as well as multiple formations and transitions in the curriculum. Students will learn both a ballet and tap dance that will be performed at the recital.
  • Ages:              7 – 8 years

Ballet & Tap A3

Students will be participating in a 1.15 hour combination class of ballet and tap. This class will receive ballet barre, center floor, and across the floor training. Focus in placed on technique and the understanding of movement. Tap technique and combinations will be taught with focus on correct sounds and rhythm. Students will learn both a ballet and tap dance that will be performed at the recital.

Students will be participating in a 40-minute tap class. This class focuses on increasing the dancer’s technical abilities in tap, with a focus on single sounds and musicality. Dancers train as a group while receiving individual corrections/instruction. Fun music, across the floor activities, and dance/movement games will inspire a love for dance. Students will learn a tap dance that will be performed at the recital.

Tap A2

Students will be participating in a 40 minute tap class. The teacher will focus on tap technique, including double sounds, as well as multiple formations and transitions in the curriculum. Students will learn a tap dance that will be performed at the recital.

Hip Hop & Jazz A

All of the basic dance skills like keeping rhythm, following choreography and developing body control, as well as performance skills such as stage presence, acting, and improvisation are taught through kid-friendly and age-appropriate Hip Hop & Funk style music and movement. This class incorporates elements of classical jazz dance technique combined with funky street-style hip hop movement. This class performs both a hip hop and jazz dance at recital.

Hip Hop A

Calling all boys and girls for this fun high-energy hip hop dance class that enables boys to be boys and girls to let loose. Dancers develop musicality, creativity, listening skills and coordination. This 45-minute non-stop, action-packed class includes hip hop, basic break dancing, and dance games that will have your kid movin' to the beats!  All music and moves are age appropriate.
  • Ages:              6 – 9 years

Jazz A

This style of dance is fun and energetic and tends to be a favorite. It is used highly in commercial industries for its entertainment value. Jazz dance has roots in ballet, modern, acrobatics, African rhythm, Caribbean, etc. and is constantly influenced by all genres. This 45-minute class will focus on coordination techniques, isolations, flexibility, across the floor progressions, jumps, leaps and floor work.

Preteens Program  (B Level)  9 - 12 yr olds

Ballet & Tap B1

Students will be participating in a 1.15 hour combination class of ballet, tap, and jazz. Students will receive ballet barre, center floor, and across the floor training in ballet. Tap class will focus on technique and the understanding of movement while increasing the students “vocabulary” of tap steps with focus on correct sounds and rhythm. Students will learn and perform a ballet and tap dance at the recital.

Ballet B1

Students will be participating in a 1-hour ballet class. Students will receive ballet barre, center floor, and across the floor training in ballet. Students will learn and perform a ballet dance at the recital.

Ballet B2

This 1-hour class will focus on classical ballet technique through a professional class progression. Barre work, center and across the floor exercises are designed to better your technique, as well as performance quality and confidence. Students will learn and perform a ballet dance for recital.  
  • Ages:              10 – 11 years

Ballet B3

The 1-hour class focuses on intermediate barre work, center exercises, and across the floor combinations. Students learn technique and placement, while emphasizing musicality. Combinations to strengthen the legs, feet, and ankles are introduced to prepare students for pointe work.
  • Ages:              11 – 12 years

Tap B1

Students will be participating in a 1 hour tap class. Tap class will focus on technique and the understanding of movement while increasing the student’s “vocabulary” of tap steps with focus on correct sounds and rhythm. Students will learn and perform a tap dance at the recital.
  • Ages:              9 – 10 years

Tap B2

This class is focused on developing student coordination, sense of time and a basic tap dancing vocabulary. Classes are taught to a wide range of musical selection.
  • Ages:              10 – 11 years

Tap B3

This class is for students who have a good knowledge of all tap vocabulary. Students are introduced to more advanced concepts such as musicality, improvisation, more complex combinations, use of space and choreography. Students gradually develop speed, clarity, and understanding of time and tempo.

Hip Hop B

Hip-Hop is a great way to exercise, build strength, stamina and self-esteem, while having fun and learning to dance! So get in the groove with great moves! Learn style, musicality and technique with the elements essential to Hip-Hop: breaking, popping & locking. Hip-Hop  develops improvisation and personal interpretation of choreography. And experience the Hip-Hop revolution! Geared towards 11 and up

Jazz B

This class begins with a warm-up comprising technique developing exercises, flexibility enhancing stretches, and strength building calisthenics. Progressions across the floor will help the student execute footwork patterns precisely and in rhythmic to music.

Teen Program  (C/D Level)  13 + up

Ballet C1

This 1½ class is geared towards beginner and intermediate ballet students who wish to enhance their ballet technique. Dancers will develop their classical ballet skills in a required minimum of two classes per week.
  • Ages:              13 – 14 years

Ballet C2

Training will include more challenging combinations emphasizing flexibility, precision and attention to detail, musicality, increased artistry, and correct classical technique. As dancers develop finesse in incorporating multiple facets of their training, the difficulty increases. Dancers will develop their classical ballet skills in a required minimum of two classes per week.
  • Ages:              14 – 15 years

Ballet C3

This class is for students who are ready for increasingly challenging combinations while adding musicality, choreography, and artistry to their ballet technique. Dancers will develop their classical ballet skills in a required minimum of two classes per week.
  • Ages:              15 – 16 years

Ballet D

This 1 ½ class is for a fairly accomplished dancer who is well versed in ballet movement vocabulary and has the ability to learn complicated ballet combinations readily. Flexibility, precision, attention to detail, musicality, increased artistry, and correct classical technique should start to look second nature as skills are mastered and artistry is clarified.
  • Ages:              15 – 18 years

Pre-Pointe/Pointe 

This class, by invitation only, is for dancers who are serious about dedicating their time and energy to ballet. With a focus on strengthening the body for pointe work helping with stability, foot and ankle strength, finding your center and balance, it requires students to be physically and technically prepared to handle the challenges of pointe work. Students must attend 2 technique classes per week at this studio in addition to the pointe class in order to participate.

Tap C/D

This class is for students who have a good knowledge of all tap vocabulary. Students are introduced to more advanced concepts such as musicality, improvisation, more complex combinations, use of space and choreography. The focus is to strength tap technique, developing sound, tone, and virtuosity as well as learning challenging choreography.
  • Ages:              13 – 18 years

Modern/Contemporary/Lyrical 

--- Modern class will incorporate many of the foundations of modern dance technique, including suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement. Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work and partnering, and also in various methods of improvisation.  
--- Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
--- Lyrical dance is performed in fluid, balletic type movements; sometimes takes the form of 'modern dance' or gives an interpretation of music or thought. Again, there is precision and energy in its execution and is not to be mistaken with 'ad-libbing' and frolicking around the performance area.

Recreation Classes  13 + up

Ballet/Tap/Jazz

This combination class is perfect for families who are short on time. Proper ballet, tap and jazz techniques are taught using age appropriate music and steps. Dancers practice and develop all three styles by learning combinations, across the floor and dance routines. This class will perform one style at our Spring Recital.
