Dance Fusion Fridays 

This Summer join us for a variety of dance style every other Friday for a $1 a student.  That right come move and have fun just dancing and partying with other students just like you.  The fun Starts June 13, 2018 and ends August 3,2018.  Click here to see the line up and to sign up and let us know your coming.

Recreational Classes 

(ages: 6 & up)

Community classes are six-week sessions from June 13-July 22. These classes are meant to be introductions to specific dance genres, and are designed to teach self-esteem, confidence, social skills, and the discipline of a classroom setting. These are characteristics and lessons that they will be able to use throughout their entire lives.

Classes offered are:

Ballet

Classes begin with slow technique at the ballet barre, gradually developing into the center with adagio and allegro combinations. The ballet segment includes center floor work and progressions, teaching the fundamentals of ballet. Levels offered: A, B, C

Tap

Tap dancers use their feet as a percussive expression of rhythm, music and syncopation. The tap segment include basic foot movements, rudimentary traveling steps and choreographed routines. Levels offered: A, B, C

Jazz

Jazz was the music of the World War I generation which included dance styles of the foxtrot, shimmy, ragtime, Charleston, etc. The jazz segment combines center floor isolations, progressions, and choreographed combinations. Levels offered: A

Hip-Hop

Hip Hop refers to dance styles, mainly street dance styles, primarily danced to pop and hip hop music, or that which has evolved as a part of the pop and hip‐hop culture. Classes combine a warm-up, center floor technique, break dancing, & choreographed routines. Levels offered: A, B, C and Boys only

Fusion

A fusion of dance styles incorporating ballet, modern, jazz and other genres, this class utilizes a broad spectrum of movements, from sustained fluidity to hard hitting isolations. Levels offered: A, C

Ballroom

Ballroom dance refers to a set of partner dances, which are enjoyed both socially and competitively around the world. Because of its performance and entertainment aspects, ballroom dance is also widely enjoyed on stage, film, and television. The beginning ballroom dance class will focus on waltz, foxtrot etc. Levels offered: C

Modern

These classes focus on creative movement of expression involving the various techniques of Ruth St. Dennis, Martha Graham and Jose Limon. Dancers will be introduced to improvisation, weight‐bearing, choreography, locomotor and non‐locomotor movements as they related to the styles of lyrical, jazz, near and far east cultures. Levels offered: A, B, C

Chorus

These classes focus on finding your voice and expressing yourself -- to SHINE and have a lot of fun in the process! A level chorus is structured as show choir, and B level is an a capella choir. Levels offered: A, B

Preschool Program

(ages: 1.5 - 5yrs)

We offer a 6-week program for ages 2-6 year olds from June 13-July 22. All classes include locomotor and non‐locomotor movements, gymnastic mat work and improvisation using imagery, props and movement stories in addition to the following

Wiggles & Giggles:

These classes (18 ‐30 months) provide an opportunity of sharing the fun of music and movement along with loving caregiver.

A level: (3 & 4 year olds).

Ballet technique utilizing steps and combinations and music appreciation including tempo and rhythm.

B level: (5 year olds).

Ballet technique and introduction to the ballet barre, beginning the development of center work including use of arms, legs and head together with the teaching of basic jumps, leaps and turns.

C level: Pre‐Ballet (5 & 6 year olds).

Continues to develop the skills taught in the Creative Movement levels, additional ballet technique in preparation for our Beginning Ballet program, encouraging at‐home practice and performance skills.




Camps

(ages 4 - 8 years old)

Cool off during the hot summer days with preschool camps for ages 4-8! Dancers will learn creative movement, incorporating song, dance and tumbling skills as well as arts and crafts. Camps are limited to 15 participants, snacks provided from a peanut-free menu.
Cost is $25/child  (4 camps or more, get a 15%discount!)
No dance experience required.

Activities at each camp will include:
                  Dance Class, Story of the Day, Snack Time, Arts and Crafts, Choreography, Acting,  Dance Games
Attire:
                 Comfortable shirt & shorts that can get messy. Bring ballet or jazz shoes for dance class. (Available for purchase at the studio.)

Intensives

Opportunities for the focused student to continue their dance training into the summer—to refine existing technique, learn new concepts, and be challenged to reach for higher levels of proficiency and artistry. Camps will focus on different dance genres (ballet & pointe, modern, lyrical, hip hop, tap) and musical theater:
 
June 5-9 4:30—8:30PM
July 24-28 4:30—8:30PM
Demonstration for family and friends the following Saturday at 10:00am

A/B level:  8—12 years    $225/week
C/D level: 15 years & up $225/week
